A sheltered woodland descent from Alumhurst Road down to the seafront, all on-lead friendly paths. Cool in summer, gentle underfoot — ideal for older dogs, and my go-to when the wind picks up on the cliff.
Long, open views along the cliff towards Bournemouth Pier, with easy zig-zag descents to the promenade. Best in shoulder seasons when the beach dog restrictions lift and we can wind down at sea level.
The leafy residential grid between Poole Road and the top of Alum Chine — wide pavements, mature trees, low traffic. Perfect for reactive or newly-adopted dogs who need calm streets, not stimulation.
Straight down the chine and onto the promenade. Dogs are welcome along the prom year-round; the beach itself is open to dogs outside the summer restriction window (roughly mid-May to late September).
A shorter, sniff-rich pavement wander around the village — good for dogs who need light exercise, or a socialisation walk with plenty to look at without being overwhelming.
A small, tucked-away green pocket just off Poole Road. Handy for drop-in visits when we just need to stretch legs and toilet, without committing to a full loop out.
Westbourne is well-suited to the kind of care Sand & Settle offers.
