Southbourne, Boscombe and Winton each have their own character, but they share something Westbourne and BH13 don't quite match — proper open space nearby. Between the Southbourne clifftop, Hengistbury Head, Boscombe Chine and Kings Park, dogs in this part of Bournemouth have some of the best walking on the south coast on their doorstep.
What they often lack is a walker who'll actually use it. Too many dog-walking services in this area default to piling four or five dogs into a van, driving them to the same spot every day, and returning them tired but never quite settled. The long, flat clifftop path from Fisherman's Walk out towards Hengistbury Head — sea on one side, open grass on the other. A working walk for a young Labrador or spaniel, and a favourite of mine year-round.

The wooded ravine that descends from Boscombe town down to the seafront. Sheltered, sniff-rich, and a good change of surface for dogs whose usual routine is pavements.
Broad, open, and just outside Boscombe — a proper big-city park with meadow and mature trees. Good for confident dogs who like to move, and useful when we want an off-lead conversation in an appropriate setting.
The heart of Winton's local dog scene. Not the biggest space, but well-used and social — good for socialisation walks with dogs who need controlled exposure to other dogs without a big outing.
The residential grid behind Southbourne Grove — quiet pavements, wide roads, plenty of front hedges to sniff at. Ideal for a shorter drop-in-style walk or a nervous dog's first outings with me.
Southbourne especially has one of the highest concentrations of dogs I know of in Bournemouth. That means a lot of choice — and a lot of walkers doing the same thing.
